Safer shoots, before, during and after

A calm checklist for meeting a photographer or team for the first time: what to check, what to agree, who to tell, and what to do if something feels wrong. You can always leave.

Saved on this device only. Your ticks, shoot plan and boundaries are kept in this browser so they're here when you come back. Nothing is uploaded. Use "Clear everything" at any time, and on a shared device clear it when you're done.

1Your checklist

Three stages. Tick as you go: it's just for you.

Share before you go

2The shoot plan I'll share

Fill this in and send it to someone you trust, so they know where you are, who you're with and when to expect your messages. The Suzy Lamplugh Trust suggests agreeing that if you don't check in, your friend calls the place or goes to check on you.

3My boundaries

Tick what you're comfortable with for this shoot. There's no right answer, and you can change your mind on the day. We'll write a clear, friendly message you can send beforehand.

Reporting and support

4Where to get help

If you are in danger right now, call the emergency number for the country you're in. StudioMODL cannot receive reports or investigate anyone, so please use these official and specialist routes.

Honest limits

  • No checklist can make a meeting safe, and nothing here means a shoot or person is safe or genuine. Trust your instincts and leave if you need to.
  • If something happens, it is never your fault, whether or not you followed any checklist.
  • This is general safety information, not legal advice. Rules on contracts, consent and images differ between countries.
  • Support contacts cover the UK, the US, France and Italy. Numbers and hours were checked in October 2026 and can change, so check the linked page.
  • Practical tips without a source are marked as tips. Nothing here has yet been reviewed by a safeguarding professional; that review is planned for a later phase.
  • Your shoot plan and boundaries are stored in this browser only, not encrypted, and anyone using this device could see them.
